are you ready to cast your ballot?

Follow the steps below to make you are #VotingReady!

1. Check your voter registration

Head to the website below to make sure your address is up to date and you are registered to vote!

2. Update your voter registration

Need to update your address on your voter registration? No problem! Fill out the voter registration form (linked here) and either a) mail it to your County Elections Office, or b) hand-deliver it to your County Elections Office. Check out the link below to find your County Elections Office.

When filling out the form, watch out for these common mistakes:

Section 5: You can fill out this section with either your Montana Driver’s License, last 4 digits of your Social Security Number, or tribal ID.

Sections 6 & 7: Your Montana Residence Address (section 6) cannot be a PO Box; it must be a physical address in order for them to determine your voting precinct. A PO Box works just fine for your mailing address (section 7).

Receive your ballot in the mail! You must check this box if you want to receive a ballot in the mail for all elections.

Be sure to sign and date your application! Your registration form will not be processed without it. This signature will also be the same signature poll workers use to verify your ballot!

3. Make a plan to vote

Absentee ballots are mailed out in October and Election Day is on November 8th. Head to our Voter Hub to learn more, get informed on candidates and ballot initiatives, and make a plan to vote today!
