Young Montanans make up 25% of eligible voters in Montana. Our generation cares deeply about issues like climate change, economic justice, and LGBTQ equality. Before we can vote our values, we have to know where candidates stand on the issues that matter most to us. That’s why we produce candidate forums and voters guides that are by young people for all people. 

Voter Guides

Alongside other affiliates of the Alliance for Youth Action, Forward Montana has been producing and distributing the Great American Voter Guide since 2014. In 2016, Forward Montana distributed 60k print voter guides across the state with information compiled by young Montanans and for all Montanans.

We know that when young people turn out, progress happens. That’s why hosting candidate forums in local elections in our three major cities – Missoula, Bozeman, and Billings – is a cornerstone of our work. Along with local partners, we host fun, engaging and youth-oriented candidate forums so that local government candidates understand that they are accountable to us, too.
